Dennis R. Murphy is Dean Emeritus of the College of Business and Economics. He received his Ph.D. in 1974 from Indiana University. Prior to coming to Western Washington University, he served on the faculty of Indiana University and of Emory University in Atlanta. He served as Dean of the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University 1983-2007, and has served as Interim Provost/Vice-President for Academic Affairs in the past. Murphy’s teaching and research interests include international trade and finance, monetary theory, and money and banking. Murphy serves on the boards of several organizations including Cascade Financial Corp., Cascade Bank, where he chairs the Audit & Finance Committee, amongst others. He is Past-President of both The United Way of Whatcom County and the Rotary Club of Bellingham. |
