John M. Krieg received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 1999. He was a tenure-track professor at the United States Naval Academy before joining the faculty at Western in the summer of 2000. Professor Krieg's teaching and research interests include econometrics, labor economics, and macro. His current research interests include the economics of education, faculty unions, and the No Child Left Behind Act. Dr. Krieg served as the President of the Lynden School District Board of Directors. He received the Dean’s research award in 2005, 2006 and 2008. In his spare time, Dr. Krieg enjoys fishing and hiking.
