Jason Kanov joined the College of Business and Economics at Western in the summer of 2007. He completed his PhD in organizational psychology at the University of Michigan in 2005, and served as the Genevieve Albers Visiting Fellow at the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University from 2005 to 2007.
Jason's research focuses on investigating socio-emotional workplace phenomena. His current research explores how relational events--namely instances of interpersonal disconnection--affect individuals, workplace relationships, and broader social systems within work organizations. He also studies the nature and impact of compassion in the workplace. He has published empirical and theoretical research in the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, American Behavioral Scientist, the Sage Handbook of Organizational Studies, and the Handbook of Transformative Cooperation: New Designs and Dynamics.
Jason teaches courses on a variety topics related to organizational behavior and management principles including diversity management, relationships and interpersonal processes, teams, negotiations and conflict resolution, and leadership.
